PHOENIX — Yesterday, Arizona Democrats rallied outside of the Capitol to unveil three key provisions in their Affordability Agenda to lower costs for Arizonans, while Republicans focus on providing the wealthy with more tax cuts and partisan bills meant to divide Arizonans.
Senator Priya Sundareshan, Representative Maria Sandoval, and Representative Stephanie Simacek proposed:
- SB1380: to ensure that utilities do pass the costs that data centers and other large power users incur onto other customers
- HB2848: to provide affordable access to health food and reduce the presence of food deserts in Arizona
- HB2581: to support patients who are wrongfully denied insurance claims while those same insurers reap massive profits
“While Republicans are focused on helping their donors and corporations, Arizonans know that food, health care, and energy costs are hurting Arizonans,” said Arizona Democratic Party Chair Charlene Fernandez. “Arizona Democrats have a concrete plan to save Arizonans money and hold big corporations accountable.”
