Largest Number of Layoffs Nationally Since 2009

PHOENIX – This month, the firm, Challenger, Gray & Christmas released a new report showing the largest increase in layoffs nationally since 2009, including over 20,000 layoffs in Arizona, as President Trump’s tariff policies threaten job growth.

While Trump and Arizona Republicans boast about their economic record, Arizonans are facing skyrocketing costs and sustained inflation.

“Donald Trump and his Republican backers in Congress are causing real job losses because of these reckless policies,” ADP Chair Charlene Fernandez said. “While Republicans do the bidding of billionaires, Arizona Democrats are focused on making life more affordable for Arizonans.”
